José Neves is an Aerospace Engineer with a Post Graduate in Management. With an engineering career initiated back in 1997, he is currently chairman of AED, the Portuguese Aeronautical, Space and Defence Cluster. José Neves is also Board Member of GMV in Portugal, where he is also director of Homeland Security & Defence affairs.
In the past he was Board Member of the ASD Europe, which represents the Aeronautics, Space, Defence and Security Industries in Europe, where he is now a representative of the General Assembly.
Under his engineering responsibilities, he is GMV expert for the Artificial Intelligence in Aviation Committee SAE G34 / EUROCAE WG114. This international working group is leading the Process Standard for Development and Certification of Aeronautical Safety-Related Products Implementing Artificial Intelligence. For the CleanSky 2 Programme he was a European Commission Expert for the Small Transport Aircraft and Fast Rotorcraft domains.
