Florin-Marian Spătaru serves as State Counsellor to the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania, leading key initiatives in economic policy and development. His extensive experience and proficiency in economic policy, energy planning, defense industry management, and investment facilitation underscore his significant contributions to Romania’s progress, shaping its economic policies and attracting crucial investments for sustainable growth. As a specialist in Economic Analysis and Policy Development, Spătaru provides expert advice on economic policies, regulations, and reforms, driving sustainable economic growth and development. In the realm of Energy Planning, Spătaru analyzes the country’s energy requirements, demand projections, and supply dynamics, informing on pivotal energy planning and policy decisions. Additionally, Spătaru shoulders the responsibility of maintaining a robust Defense Industry, overseeing a network of companies and organizations active in defense industry. In the domain of Investment Promotion and Facilitation, he assesses potential investment opportunities and sectors to attract both domestic and foreign investors. Before serving as State Counsellor to the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania, Florin-Marian Spătaru was appointed Minister of Economy in November 2021. Prior to that, he served as President of ANCONAV, the Romanian Shipbuilding Association, since 2013, and as HR & Corporate Affairs Director at Damen Shipyards since 2018. During his tenure at ANCONAV, his responsibilities included representing the Romanian Shipbuilding Association in SEA Europe (The Shipyards’ & Maritime Equipment Association of Europe) and OECD Council Working Party on Shipbuilding – WP6. In 2009, he studied at the London Business School, and in 2007 he graduated from ‘’Dunărea de Jos’’ University of Galați.
