Portugal’s Growing Ecosystem: Enabling Innovation and International Cooperation
This presentation will showcase Portugal’s defense economy ecosystem and provide a comprehensive overview of the key capabilities of the Portuguese industry and R&D centers, with a strong emphasis on fostering international partnerships. From participation in flagship aerospace programs to extensive experience in multilateral initiatives, the Portuguese industry has been evolving rapidly in recent years, positioning itself as a reliable and innovative partner in the global aerospace and defense landscape.
It will also highlight Portugal’s role as a strategic location at the crossroads of Europe, Africa, and the Americas, serving as a gateway to the Atlantic. In addition, the Portuguese ecosystem remains firmly committed to international cooperation, actively engaging in both bilateral partnerships and multilateral initiatives with Allies across different regions.
With a degree in Management and a specialization in Marketing, complemented by advanced training in internationalization and business development, has been building a career focused on global markets. After an early career in consulting and international experiences across Africa, Latin America, and Europe, joined AICEP – Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency in 2015 as Director of its overseas offices in São Tomé and Príncipe and Equatorial Guinea (non-resident), and later served in Colombia and Panama (non-resident). Since 2021, has been leading the Mobility, Aerospace & Defense clusters at AICEP in Portugal, currently dedicated exclusively to business development in Aerospace and Defense.
